The Biomedical Journal of Scientific & Technical Research (BJSTR) in the USA published an interesting article back in 2018, Preventing Spread of Vancomycin-Resistant Enterococci in a Hospital by Using a Nanotechnology-Based Disinfectant. It was a joint study between a hospital, a medical facility and two universities.

The study confirms that Bacoban prevents the spread of Vancomycin-resistant Enterococci in the hospital in Istanbul. This study showed that using of Bacoban remarkably reduced the VRE contamination, compared with levels of VRE contamination detected during the use of sodium hypochlorite (bleach) for disinfection in the control units. These findings have important implications to prevent VRE in endemic health care settings. This study also confirms the lasting protection of up to 22 days on surfaces including medical devices found in hospitals.

Researchers compared the Bacoban with another disinfectant and found that a single Bacoban application was equivalent in efficacy to the daily application of the other liquid for 15 days in anaesthesia devices in the operating room.
