AeroBuf axial drum buffer for polishing aircraft aluminium surfaces.

The AeroBuf is an axial drum designed for professional swirl free metal polishing. AeroBuf Drum Buffer is a solid 3D printed drum made with heavy duty, durable PETG or Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol, a thermoplastic polyester that provides significant chemical resistance, durability compared to other plastics.

The drum is designed to fit standard drum wheel polishing machines. The drive shaft onto which the AeroBuf will fit is 20mm diameter and 100mm long. Once fitted onto the shaft, screw in the bolt supplied to fix the AeroBuf onto the power tool securely. The total weight of the AeroBuff and a burnishing machine (typical type) is 4,5kg or 9lb 14oz. The drum on its own weighs 950 gramms.

Pad Selection.

Wool Pad – This pad is used for the initial cut or oxidation removal stage. Leaves a slightly larger cut lines when compared to the cotton. Use NuShine G or F range with this pad.

Cotton Pad – Use this pad for finishing. The finish is finer when compared to the wool pad finish, use NuShine A, C or S grades. Finish with a Cyclo and Cyclo Wrap and NuShine S for the mirror finish.
